Katy was born and raised in San Diego, came to Chicago to attend Northwestern University and subsequently found her home in the Midwest. Her career in marketing was supplemented with a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College where she and Dietrich started their lives together in the mid 90s. Five kids and many moves later, the family arrived in Michigan in 2013 to put down roots. She recently completed a five year commitment as Teaching Director in Community Bible Study alongside eight years of parent leadership in high school football booster clubs. Cooking and baking have been long-time interests, whether for a family meal, a dinner party, a bake sale or a football team dinner for 60 hungry boys. Ownership of the Give Thanks Bakery is a dream-come-true and a perfect opportunity to work alongside members of her family, and share the spirit of gratitude to God that is a hallmark of the business.
