The Bakery uses old-world techniques including natural bread starters, hand shaping, freshly-made pastries from scratch and artfully laminated doughs. We have a broad offering of croissants, breakfast pastries, dessert pastries, cakes, and cookies made at our main location in Rochester. We are proud partners of many restaurants in Metro Detroit. We have the most talented bread and pastry teams, supported by our highly qualified counter staff that takes care of our retail customers’ needs. The bakery is currently open Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sunday and Monday.
We are looking for energetic, outgoing personalities for our counter team at the Give Thanks Bakery location in Royal Oak and Rochester who are available to work mornings and/or afternoons Tuesday through Saturday year-round.
The job includes:
· serving customers with an upbeat, courteous and accommodating attitude
· developing a knowledge level of the making of our baked goods
· teaching or learning the art of making espresso drinks
· dishwashing of serving trays
· clean up duties like sweeping, vacuuming and mopping at the end of day
Pay range is $12-15 depending on experience and tenure. Successful candidates have the opportunity to become part of a diverse and inclusive team with long-term employment prospects. Counter Staff/Baristas will participate in the company-wide tip pool.

Senior Croissant Team Member, Full Time

Responsibilities:
The Senior Croissant Team Member will be a vital part of our experienced Pastry Team, working under the supervision and direction of the Director of Operations. This individual should have experience with the art of dough lamination and be prepared to assimilate with the time-honored traditions and practices of the Bakery. The Senior Croissant Team Member’s responsibilities will include the entire life cycle of our croissant line, including:
· Dough mixing and oversight of dough rest
· Lamination of multiple pieces per day
· Shaping Butter, Chocolate and Savory Croissants
· Managing the proofing process
· Managing almond croissant production
· Managing precisely daily inventory and forecast for upcoming needs
Qualifications:
· Previous experience with dough lamination and sheeter operation
· Team-oriented, cooperative, collaborative work style
· Creative and curious approach to culinary innovation
· Culinary education is a plus, but not required
· Food Handlers Certificate or comparable (we will sponsor, if needed)
· Willingness to strive for excellence always
· Comfortable with the physical demands of a busy kitchen environment
· Enthusiasm for the bakery business, especially artisan baking
This position is a Monday – Friday, 40-hour work week with some flexibility in hours. This position will start in start in Rochester and transition to Royal Oak. Responsibilities:
The Head Pastry Chef will lead the Pastry Team, working collaboratively and under the direction of the Director of Operations. This individual should have experience with the art European pastry and cake production including Viennoisserie, torte assembly and decoration, and individual desserts such as mousses, tarts, eclairs, etc. Most importantly, this individual will have demonstrated leadership experience and potential in order to:
· conceptualize and delegate responsibilities for the contents of all dessert pastry and cookie cases in Rochester, Royal Oak and Midtown;
· ensure consistency of production and quality across locations
· elevate product offerings and innovate, when appropriate
· supervise pastry staff and cultivate skills and talent from within the organization
· plan and conceptualize holiday pastry offerings year-round
· oversee inventory levels and contribute to cost control measures
The opportunity exists to re-build a vibrant wedding cake segment and is a growth area for active consideration.
